![]() Training Best Practice –
What it looks like
The company has a clear and stated vision for the future. It has a strategic plan which outlines its vision and it has a tactical plan which demonstrates how it plans to achieve its objectives. A process exists to devise and document these plans. The company has a training plan which supports and remains consistent to the objectives of the company. Management are involved in and support the training process. Resources including funding are available for implementing the training plan. A formal needs analysis process identifies current and future training needs. Delivery of training coincides with the need rather than the identification of the need. There is a clear, documented, authorised process for the provision of training; the authorisation process helps ensure that provided training supports business needs. Employees understand and share the company’s vision, ideally by having been involved in its conception. They understand how their own objectives form part of their team’s objectives and in turn the company’s objectives. Employees are empowered. They participate in the decisions that affect them and have a say in how they meet their own objectives. A variety of training methods can be accessed by employees. Employees have the opportunity to develop themselves personally and professionally. Training is evaluated for effectiveness. Performance improvement is measured. Training suppliers understand the company’s objectives and work with the company to help achieve them. << Back to Consultancy |
